Roof Replacements
Once you have made your decision on the color and style shingles you would like, I place the order with my supplier. This usually takes two days for delivery. I then schedule your home for installation.
We install tarps to protect groundcover and to catch any debris. We remove the old shingles and inspect the plywood, replacing any we find to be rotted or warped. New 36-inch ice shield is installed along soffits and valleys to prevent ice dams. New felt underlayment covers the remaining roof surface. The roof is marked off and chalk lines are used to keep the shingles straight both vertically and horizontally.
All roof fixtures, such as plumbing pipe collars, chimney counterflashing, skylight flashing, and apron flashing are replaced.
A three-inch gap is cut at the peak of the roof to allow ridge-ventilation. I use a rigid cap over style ridge vent to get a better blended appearance. This also has a stronger wind resistance.
